Club ladder
Conservative doubles Elo.
Every player starts at μ 1500 with high uncertainty (σ 350). After each doubles result we update μ with the team average, shrink σ a bit, and sort the ladder by a conservative score: L = μ − 2σ. New or inactive players climb only as they earn trust.
Ranking rules
- Ladder score is L = μ − 2σ (μ = skill, σ = uncertainty).
- Team rating = average μ; expected score via Elo curve (400 divisor).
- K 24 scaled by score margin; σ shrinks by 3.0%/match to a 80 floor.
- Inactivity inflates σ 1.002× per day up to 350.
- Includes tournaments and regular-game sessions; ties are treated as 0.5 / 0.5.
Windowed boards (weekly/monthly/annual) replay only the matches in that period from the baseline, so those μ/L values can be higher/lower than the lifetime ratings shown on your dashboard.
